The UNCKC and the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension offer 4 accredited, sub-specialty residency programs and one year-long sub-subspecialty fellowship. Residents are valued members of the UNCKC team and continue their relationship with the UNC program as leaders in their chosen professional settings.

Adult Nephrology- two-year clinical with a minimum of four months research activity (2-3 residents per year)
- three-year epidemiology tract, including pursuit of an MPH and one year of clinical (1-2 residents per year)
- three-year basic science laboratory research, including one year of clinical (1 resident per year)
- one-year transplant fellowship, requires nephrology board certification
Three-year tract with two research years and one clinical (1 resident per year)
