The Kidney Education Outreach Program (KEOP) has targeted 17 counties that have high prevalence rates of citizens receiving kidney replacement therapy (dialysis or transplant) and/or high numbers of citizens who are at greater risk for developing chronic kidney disease (elderly citizens and minority citizens).
Screening data have been compliled into a table that reveals the characteristics of the population that has been screened by the KEOP. The following characteristics are derived from the KEOP screening surveys. The standard survey contains 49 items. A short survey, containing only 19 items, is used when the population being screened includes significant numbers of out-of-state residents. If you have questions about our survey or screening protocol, please contact Donna Harward, Director of Education and Outreach, 919.966.2561 extension 300 or donna_harward@med.unc.edu. You may view the table here.
