The UNC Kidney Center's team comprises administrators, dentists, educators, epidemiologists, pediatric and adult nephrologists, pharmacists, researchers, and social workers. Through clinical care and outreach, this impressive array of talent, training and skill delivers excellent patient care, provides community-based outreach to increase citizens' awareness of the risk factors for developing kidney disease, and promotes prevention, earlier intervention and improved management of early stage kidney disease. Through clinical and basic science research, the UNCKC team seeks to discover ways to better understand diseases of the kidney and to improve both the delivery of patient care and patient outcomes. Patients and their families are important partners with the UNCKC health care team.
